The Tampa Bay region has experienced mounting housing supply pressures in recent years, contributing to declining affordability across Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. The Tampa Bay Partnership, a regional coalition of business and nonprofit leaders, engaged SB Friedman to develop demand projections across the three-county region and established a unified foundation for action.

Lower-income households have limited housing options throughout the region, and often must spend more than 30% of their incomes on housing to stay in the region.

Results
SB Friedman delivered a comprehensive briefing book and executive summary in July 2025 and presented findings to the Tampa Bay Partnership, funders and regional partners at a Regional Housing Affordability Task Force meeting in August 2025. The Tampa Bay Partnership subsequently launched a housing webpage in February 2026 to share findings, elevate regional housing challenges, and support continued collaboration around affordability solutions.
