Trusted Advisors for Public-Private Partnerships

We have helped public agencies and private developers navigate the complexities of public-private finance — structuring transactions that work for both sides of the table.

SB Friedman has reviewed the feasibility and projected the tax revenues of hundreds of development projects and special districts throughout the country. Over the past 15 years, our firm has served as analyst and advisor for $5.5 billion in public-private financing in support of $28.3 billion of projects. We currently provide these services to public agencies and economic development organizations across the country under ongoing term agreements.

Our depth of experience in private and public-private real estate finance allows us to tailor solutions that strike the right balance between minimizing risk to the public sector and achieving a financially feasible private development project. We bring particular expertise in tax increment financing (TIF), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs) and Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), and have successfully combined these tools with a wide range of other financing sources. The combination of tools involved in a particular transaction often dictates the appropriate structure for public participation, and we have the breadth of knowledge to navigate that complexity on behalf of our clients.
